How Great Thou Art by Alan Jackson

www.facebook.com/mindslife O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder, Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made; I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed. Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art. Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art! When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation, And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart. Then I shall bow, in humble adoration, And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!" Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art. Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

Computers - Help Your Laptop and Desktop to Run Smoothly

Your laptop or desktop computer and its systems, however sophisticated and complex they may appear to be (and actually are) at face value, are also susceptible to freezes, crashes, the BSD (the feared Blue Screen of Death) or at worst a complete and total breakdown of your system.

How this affects you will depend considerably upon the nature of the failure and what you were doing at the time of the failure. For instance, if you do not store important data on your computer and it has a complete breakdown whilst you were engaged in nothing particularly important, this will not be a particularly big deal for you.

However, if you do store data on your desktop or laptop computer and you have not backed up that data, a total system breakdown could have the most disastrous of consequences, not only for your personal convenience, but also for your commercial situation.

When you relate the latter hypothesis to the fact that a personal computer, whether it is a laptop or desktop, has become almost an essential for the vast majority of people in the world, either in the personal field or in their business and financial lives, the importance of doing everything possible to avoid a computer failure becomes all the more palpable.

But how do you minimize the chances of this happening?

The first and absolute rule is to make sure that your computer is not vulnerable to attack from outside parties. There are literally millions of infections that can invade your operating system and your hard drives that can, quite literally, disable your computers. All kinds of virus, malware and spyware is out there waiting to slip inside the computer's defences, if there is even a small trace of vulnerability. Trojan horse, keyloggers and a variety of other infections can not only make your computer stop operating as it should do, or altogether, in some cases. They can also steal valuable files and dishonestly obtain sensitive stored There are numerous types of infections out there. An up to date protection system is therefore vital if you want to preserve the safety of your computer and the information stored on it. Antivirus protection and anti-malware and anti-spyware programmes are all available, often at no cost. These can ensure that your laptop or desktop continues to work and safely store your information. The best way of accessing these protection programmes is by checking out computer review sites on the internet. There you will be able to share advice from other computer enthusiasts about the best deals available to you. Whatever you do, and however you do it, make sure that you get your computer protected. It is the single most important thing to do.

Of course, it is possible that you will become infected with a virus, even with the best of protection. In that case there are tools that can be employed to eradicate the infection or you can get online advice about how to eliminate the threat manually. Modern operating systems such as Windows also provides a system restore programme, which will put your system back into the shape it was in before the computer was infected.

However, not all viruses will be eliminated by using system restore in this way, so a total clean up is usually necessary. Sadly, some viruses are so stubborn or so skilful in hiding themselves within your computer that the only way that you can be sure to get rid of them is by formatting your hard and reloading your operating system and your files and programmes from the manufacturer's CD. It is vital therefore, that you back up all your files on a regular basis so that they can be reloaded onto your computer if you do indeed need to carry out a format. If you are storing important information it probably makes sense to back this information up - meaning copying it onto some portable storage medium such as a CD or a USB drive or an external hard drive - at least once every week. That way your files will be protected and capable of being restored to your computer if you are unlucky enough to have to carry out a complete re-writing of your hard drive. The vast majority of computers have a large amount of random access memory (commonly referred to as RAM) The amount of RAM will affect how quickly your processes run. If you have an older desktop or laptop computer and it is running more slowly than you would like you may consider upgrading the amount of RAM. Memory cards can be purchased easily on the internet and you might be pleasantly surprised at the increased efficiency of your computer after carrying out an upgrade.

The same can also be said about reducing the amount of data held on your hard disk. The fuller this hard disk is the slower your computer is likely to run. There are two basic ways to free up space on your hard drive. The first of these is simply to uninstall any unnecessary or unused programmes that you have stored there. This can free up lots of hard disk space, particularly if you are uninstalling large programmes. The second way is to defragment your hard drive. This process collects the files on your computer that have become fragmented and re-organises then tidily, thus saving space and also causing the programmes to run more efficiently. If you find that you still have simply too much stored on your computer you might try to move photographs and other heavy space using files, such as media files onto an external hard drive. This can also free up lots of space.

The final option is to buy a new hard drive and install this in place of your old one. This is an option, which, unlike the upgrading of your RAM, is likely to require the help of a computer engineer. You might also want to look at the number of programmes that automatically start up when you turn on your computer. When you download or add certain programmes they write themselves to start up every time your computer switches on. This can cause a long wait for all of these programmes to load.

The more of these you remove at start up the quicker your computer will be in loading.

Finally, you might with to consider cleaning up your registry entries so that unnecessary entries are removed. It is advisable to be very careful when doing this and it is probably best not to try it at all unless you know what you are doing because you may disable your computer altogether. However, if you do know what you are doing, tidying up the registry can have a very positive impact on the performance of your computer.

Conclusion

In summary, there are several ways that you can enhance the performance of your computer. There are also ways of cleaning up your computer if it becomes affected by an infection. However the best advice that anyone could give is that it better to be safe than sorry. So protect your computer from these threats at all times.

Life Freedom

Just what can you accomplish when you have true Life Freedom? Well, for starters, you can do those things that most people just think or dream about. Wouldn't it be great to get out of the rat race mentality and the limiting mindset that totally inhibits what you truly want to accomplish? Life Freedom is a lifestyle of abundance and prosperity. It's a life of great Financial rewards and most importantly Financial Independence.

With Life Freedom, you get to live a life that is coveted by many, but at the same time, you get to help those same people live a life they can only imagine. It is a lifestyle that allows you to travel like no one else. You can be in Namale, Fiji one morning and on the beach in Maui a day later. This is how many people would picture their ideal life is that they simply just become aware of the power of their mind and follow through.

What is the best way to achieve Life Freedom? In my lifetime, studying many resources that I have absorbed through education, I feel that the best way to achieve Life Freedom is through personal development, continuous improvement and taking Action to achieve your goals. There is no clear-cut way to achieve this level of freedom, so if you are looking for a magic pill to make you massively successful, you won't find it.

In studying the many successful people that have achieved monumental success, there is a common denominator among all. They are usually in a niche and are able to exploit it fully. They are usually also the best at what they do or surround themselves with that level of knowledge. They are constantly improving themselves through leverage or reinvesting into their own lives. I would implore that you study the biographies of those that have the level of freedom that you want and simply model their behavior. It really is just that simple.

Sewing - Tools and History

The practice of sewing, as in using thread and needle to attach various kinds of material, has been dated to at least 20,000 years ago. Sewing is practically a universal occurrence, and the actual beginnings of it stretch back to the beginnings of history. It predates the weaving of cloth by many centuries, and was used to stitch together hides, furs, and bark for clothing and other uses.

Early sewing needles were made from bone, wood, or natural needles taken from plants as Native Americans did with the agave plant. The earliest verified sewing needles made from iron date back to the third century B.C.E. and were found in what is now Germany. Chinese archaeologists report finding a complete set of iron sewing needles and thimbles in a tomb dating from the Han Dynasty (202 BC-AD 220) in China. This is the earliest known example of a thimble in history. The thimble was developed to assist early sewers to push needles through thick hides and furs, and was first made from bone, wood, leather, sometimes glass and porcelain. Later thimbles began to be made from metal, and before the 18th century dimples in a thimble had to be punched into it by hand. The thimble also became an object of beauty with thimbles made from precious and semi-precious stones, and precious metals.

The first thread was made from plant fibers and animal sinew, which was used to sew together hides and furs for clothing, blankets and shelter. Later it was found that fibers from plants and animals could be spun together to make thread. The ancient Egyptians made thread by spinning these fibers together, and devised methods of dying the thread using berries and plant matter. In China and Japan, silk fibers taken from the cocoon of the silk worm was spun to make very fine thread.

For most of the history of sewing, it was done by hand. From the simplest stitches to ornate decorative work was done with a needle, thread and a steady hand. It remained so until the first patent for a machine that "emulated hand sewing" in 1790 in England. It is not known whether there ever was a machine built from the 1790 patent.

The first functioning sewing machine was issued a patent to Barthelemy Thimonnier in France in 1830. It used a single thread and a hooked needle to make a chain stitch similar to the one used in hand embroidery. The inventor was nearly killed when enraged French tailors rioted and burned down his garment factory because they feared the machine would cause unemployment. In 1846 the American Elias Howe was issued a patent for his machine, but the mass production of the machines did not happen until the 1850's when Isaac Singer built the first truly successful sewing machine. With needle, thread, thimble and machine, the art and craft of it has not only formed items for our use and comfort. Sewing has helped form civilization itself.

A World of Knowledge - Audio Books For the Blind

Communication technology has the capacity to help improve and enrich many lives, and audio books for the blind are a prime example.

From textbooks and newspapers to magazines and best-sellers, our society is extremely visual. Added to that is the overwhelming use of computers and the internet, which are primarily visual mediums. What is taken for granted by most of us - even simply flipping through a magazine - is a struggle for those who are blind or visually impaired.

In today's society, we obtain a great deal of information and entertainment using computers and the internet. Because they are very image-based, blind and visually impaired people struggle much more to access comparable information. Nor is Braille that much more convenient. While it does allow people to enjoy written language, it can be expensive and out of reach for many blind people.

Finally, though, a technological advance for blind and visually impaired people was developed. Audio books for blind people allow many more people to easily obtain information, hear stories, and stay current with the world's news.

Mass production of audio books for the blind meant that for the first time, visually impaired individuals could go online and download a book. While it may seem simple, this allowed the first opportunity to enjoy books in an expensive or even free way.

In this case, technology has provided an enormous benefit for people around the world: blind people can now obtain an education that they would not have even five years ago.

The scope of audio books for the blind is unlimited, giving visually impaired people the ability to enjoy subjects like art, music, drama, history, economics, geography, literature, and more. This would have been unimaginable - or at least a dream - even a few years ago.

Audio books for the blind have been a great boon for education. Core subjects of reading, mathematics, writing, and science are available in audio form, giving every student and every lover of knowledge access to education.

Audio books for the blind also provide an opportunity for entertainment. Now, blind and visually impaired people can simply hear a story for pleasure, and the choices are diverse. Thousands of books - all different forms of fiction and nonfiction, contemporary or classic, popular, and more obscure - are available for the enjoyment of blind people.

Audio books are a great example of how technology can benefit and enhance people's lives, especially those with disabilities.

Classic Suspense Writer - Margaret Millar - Author Biographies

Santa Barbara shows up consistently in Margaret Millar's books, but is often named San Felicia or San Felice. Many years later another prominent mystery writer, Sue Grafton, did the same thing with her character, female private detective Kinsey Millhone, naming the town Santa Theresa. Margaret Millar was born Margaret Ellis Sturm on February 5, 1915, in Kitchner, Ontario. She was educated there and in Toronto where she studied the classics.

Margaret met Kenneth Millar, another aspiring writer, while in high school. They reconnected In college and married in 1938. Their only daughter, Linda, died in 1970. Margaret said she began publishing under her married name, Margaret Millar, because of the title of her first book (Worm, Sturm). While she was to become a prominent suspense writer, her books were never big sellers. She was a very private person and abhorred interviews.

After Margaret's husband published a couple of books under his own name, he changed to the pseudonym, John Ross Macdonald then to Ross Macdonald. Margaret's husband joined the U.S Navy during WWII and was stationed in the Pacific off the coast of southern California. When Margaret came to visit him, she fell in love with the area and they made the beautiful seaside town of Santa Barbara their home.

Between 1945 and 1946, Margaret worked at Warner Brothers as a screenwriter. It was during this time that Warner Brothers bought the option on her book, 'The Iron Gate,' but it never was produced. During the 1960s, two of Margaret's novels were adapted for the television series, 'Alfred Hitchcock Presents.'

It's been said of Margaret's work, "Her novels are prized for their psychological penetration of the hearts and minds of murderers." Margaret also wrote a non fiction book about the birds and animals she observed. Along with her husband, she founded a chapter of the Audubon Society.

Margaret was presented the prestigious Edgar Award by the Mystery writers of America in1955 for Best Novel, for 'A Beast in View.' In 1965, she was named Woman of the Year by 'Los Angeles Times.' She was also awarded the Grand Master by the Mystery Writers of America in 1982 and the Derrick Murdoch Award in 1986.

Margaret died of a heart attack on March 26, 1994, at her home in Santa Barbara. One of her favorite quotes was, "Life is something that happens to you while you are making other plans." Unfortunately, very few of her books are still in print.
